Dirty White Trash (with Gulls) (1998) is composed of six months’ worth of the artists’ discarded trash—the same time it took the artists to create the piece. 말 그대로 쓰레기더미가 “예술”이다.

Dirty White Trash 가 방탕한 백인들을 뜻하는 말이기도 하고, 그림자 속의 두 인물이 술과 담배를 들고 있는 것을 보면 대충 작가의 의도가 짐작할 수 있는데…

저런 아이디어를 떠올린 것과 그것을 저토록 아름답고(?) 완벽하게 구성해 냈다는 것 모두가 경이로울 따름이다.

내가 지금까지 본 Contemporary Art 작품 중에서는 가장 인상깊은 작품.
